TOWN OF EAST HAMPTON
EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM
The Town of East Hampton has partnered with the Chatham Health District and a company called AlertNow to create a Town Wide Emergency/Informational Notification System. AlertNow delivers voice, e-mail and emergency text messages quickly keeping residents informed of important and time-sensitive information. AlertNow will become a critical part of the Town’s Emergency Operations Plan ensuring accurate information is communicated immediately in the event of an emergency situation or health care alert.
In the event of an emergency or if we need to disseminate important information you will receive phone calls and emails to all of the contacts you provided below. If you have caller ID, the ID will read “411” for emergency notifications and (860) 267-4468 for informational calls.
A crucial component of this project will be gathering accurate contact information from our residents. Residents will be allowed to provide multiple contact numbers and email addresses to have information delivered. Please assist us by providing us with the following information:
1. First and Last Name
2. Primary Residence or Business Phone #
3. Street Address (please do not use PO Box)
4. Additional Phone #’s you would like notified (Max of 4 additional Phone #’s)
5. Primary Email Address
6. Additional Email Address you would like added to the account (Max of 4 additional Email Addresses)
7. Primary language
This information can be faxed to (860) 267-1027, emailed to execsec@easthamptonct.org or mailed to the Town Managers Office at 20 East High Street, East Hampton, CT 06424.
As part of the alert system, text messaging to your cell phone is also available for receiving emergency notifications.~To sign up for text messages you will need to register for this service by following these steps:
b. Type in the code 676583
c. Fill in your cell phone number and other required information
d. Indicate which towns within the health district you want to receive text messages for in case of an emergency.
Note: Text messages will ONLY be sent for emergency messages, not informational messages.
