Marriage Licenses
As of October 1, 2009, requirements for obtaining a marriage license have changed.
You MUST obtain your Marriage License from the town in which you are getting married.
Premarital Blood Certificates are no longer required in order to obtain a Marriage License.
A Marriage License is valid for 65 days. (You must get married within 65 days of applying for your license).
Both parties must sign the Marriage License and take an oath in the presence of the Town Clerk or Assistant Town Clerk. A couple may come in together or individually.
The Marriage License will be issued as soon as all the necessary information has been furnished. Plan on spending about 20 minutes in the Town Clerk’s Office.
No appointment is necessary. The Town Hall is open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Prior to obtaining your Marriage License be sure to have the following:
The date of marriage determined
The name, address and phone number of the person marrying you. (Click here for a list of East Hampton's Justices of the Peace.
$30.00 for the Marriage License.
Your parents’ names (mother’s maiden name) and their place of birth.
A certified copy of your marriage certificate can be obtained by completing the form Request for Copy of Marriage Certificate and returning it to Town Hall. Click HERE to download the
