Town Clerk's Office

Renewal certificates for notaries residing in East Hampton must be brought into the office in person. A signature card must be signed and filed with this office. There is a $10.00 filing fee for new and renewal certificates for a notary.

If you require a signature of a notary be certified, the notary must have their signature on file in our office and there is a $2.00 charge for this service.

The Town Clerk's office also notarizes documents.  We cannot notarize a Will, living will or durable medical power of attorney or any other documents which we must attest to the signers mental capabilities.  We cannot notarize documents which will be recorded on the East Hampton Land Records.

We require two forms of identification and we charge $5.00 per document.   We also are required by State Statute to have a notary log filled out by all individuals wishing to have their signature(s) notarized.
